Tea Group Project - Planning, Ideas, and Group Meetings

After everyone in my group had made a mood board and presented their ideas, we decided on the idea of a world where tea is illegal. This is similar to when alcohol was illegal, so it will contain some of the same elements such as speakeasies, 'tea' dealers, news reports, people hiding their illegal contraband.

After deciding on the idea we needed to create a script, storyboard and designs. At first we were going to do a storyboard each, but some people (like me) struggled to do the story part. Instead I started doing some quick doodles of possible designs which could influence the story.

After doing a few designs, I wasn't really getting anywhere because we didn't have a clear story. So we met up in our group and talked through what we had done and what our story could be. Other members of the team are better at the story side, so they had some ideas planned out already. This really helped us work out a plot and baseline so we could work out designs and the script.

My task this week is to come up with designs for characters and backgrounds, and try out a simplistic style with block colours for the characters and paper cuts for the backgrounds. There are a lot of designs to do, but it will be good to see how long each process actually takes.
